Kimberly McGhee, LCPC

Greetings my name is Kimberly McGhee, and I am a licensed mental health clinician in the state of Maryland and Washington, DC. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Morgan State University and a Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling from Trinity Washington University. My professional career began as a science and math special education instructor which then directed me into the field of human services and counseling! My professional experience also includes substance abuse treatment to incarcerated men and women. It is my duty to utilize my mental health training, and a variety of therapies and techniques typical in the field of counseling which include Psychoeducation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, etc. to support individuals on their journey to healing. A holistic approach is foundation to a healthy therapeutic process and overall treatment; therefore, we will routinely visit various domains in life; sleep, diet, exercise, spirituality and etc. I provide individual therapy to adults.

During our time together you can anticipate a safe place to confront and work through those life challenges with support from myself; you are not alone! You can also share those joyous more pleasurable moments that make you smile and experience a good laugh with the support of myself; again, you are not alone. Our therapeutic relationship is vital and collective in order to offer you the best support while learning to cope with those life experiences and changes more effectively. Individual progress depends widely on your participation in this process, which may sometimes result in slight discomfort. Remember, therapy is a continuum; there is no immediate resolution, but I will be there to provide support for your future of enlightenment and healing.
