Rebecca Shyam
Associate Counselor
Rebecca is currently a graduate student of clinical mental health counseling at The George Washington University. Rebecca earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Burman University. Rebecca has spent 9 years working in international finance and realized her passional for mental health care upon embarking on her own mental health journey during the COVID-19 pandemic. Rebecca has an easy going and warm affect and hopes to share that with all her clients.
As a DMV native, Rebecca does not take for granted the positive impact that the cultural
diversity of the region has provided and is working to provide equitable, inclusive, and culturally aware care to diverse clients working on a variety of concerns. Rebecca is passionate about meeting people where they are at and is honored to support clients during each step of their therapeutic journey. Her current theoretical approach is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy but is working to incorporate various approaches such as Family Systems and Person-Centered therapies, as well as psychoeducation.
