Soleil Kennerly, LGPC
Therapist
As a licensed graduate professional counselor, Soleil utilizes a person-centered approach, incorporating elements of Black Feminism, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Relational Cultural Theory. She considers herself to be an eclectic clinician, adapting her approach to fit the needs of her clients. Soleil has a culturally responsive lens, in which she prides herself on accounting for culture, socialization, meeting clients where they are, taking a strengths-based approach, and understanding your individual needs and desires!
Soleil’s identity as a Black woman was central in her desire to become a therapist and is
integral to her counseling today. Born and raised in PG County, Soleil obtained her Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Towson University and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology
from the University of Maryland, College Park. She accounts for intersectionality, systems of oppression, and how the sociopolitical climate can contribute to one's daily stressors. She is passionate about working with clients with marginalized identities, especially black women, creating a space in which clients feel safe, seen, heard, and valued.
Soleil loves to read books, go on walks, bake, do creative hobbies, watch TV series,
and spend time with friends/family in her free time.
