
Adaora Harris
Associate Counselor
Adaora is a second-year graduate student in the Counseling Psychology program at Towson University. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Human Development and Family Studies from Penn State University. She is also a Prince George’s County native and is passionate about helping her community.
Through her program at Towson, Adaora takes a social justice and multicultural approach to counseling. Adaora acknowledges systems of oppression that may affect the daily lives and overall well-being of her clients and their communities. She also appreciates the diverse backgrounds of her clients and hopes to provide a safe space for those with marginalized identities.
Her theoretical orientations include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Feminist & Multicultural Therapies, Strengths-Based Approaches, and Mindfulness Techniques. With these techniques and her passion for helping others on their personal growth journeys, Adaora hopes to build empowering and empathetic therapeutic relationships with all her current and future clients.
